You cannot go wrong with a new EP by Marika Takeuchi. Her vision of piano-based new age music is enchanting and thrilling at the same time. How about a new long-player?
Favorite track: Endless Thoughts.
What an intriguing album... Much of its haunting magic originates from the ingenious blend of classical music and post-rock, inheriting the melodic lines and chord structures from the former, and the solemn and smooth rhythm textures from the latter. Grand piano and real strings are at the core, frequently wrapped up into exciting synth patterns and electronic beats. No music feels more like the aching beauty of living and loving in this miraculous, mundane world than the sound-stories poured forth on this album. No matter how often I listen to it (which is a lot, I write to it often) I am stunned and reduced to swooning goo. Thank you, Zoe Keating. mamaorion
